The 20th ECA General Assembly, which took place on 26th & 27th March 2018 in Rome, was a landmark event in the history of ECA, marking a celebration of 10 years of the ‘voice’ of European football clubs.
Representatives from member clubs across the continent gathered to discuss a range of topics on the future of European club football. Discussions included the endorsement of an enhanced set of Financial Fair Play Regulations, updates on the developments of the FIFA Stakeholders Committee’s task force on the future of the transfer system, updates on UEFA Club Competitions, and addresses from the FIFA and UEFA Presidents, respectively. The two-day affair also provided opportunity for ECA Working Groups and Subdivisions to meet, as well as the ECA Executive Board.

Following the vacation of Anders Hørsholt’s seat, Ordinary Members of the third Subdivision elected the following to the ECA Executive Board:
Subdivision Representatives
Following reforms to the ECA Statutes voted upon at the 19th ECA General Assembly in September 2017, for the first time, elections for the Subdivision Representatives to sit on the ECA Executive Board were held. The following were elected:
- Subdivision 1: Sergey Fursenko | FC Zenit (RUS)
- Subdivision 2: Raphael Landthaler | SK Rapid Wien (AUT)
- Subdivision 3: Stefan Pantović | FK Crvena Zvezda (SRB)
- Subdivision 4: Viðar Halldórsson | FH Hafnarfjörður (ISL)
Next General Assembly
Following the success of the landmark General Assembly in Rome, ECA is pleased to announce that the 21st ECA General Assembly will take place at the Hotel Le Méridien Lav in Split, Croatia on 10th & 11th September 2018. Split, which was host of the ECA & HNK Hajduk Conference earlier this month, is a city with rich sporting history and cultural features, making it the perfect location for such an event.
