The ECA Executive Board recently gave its backing to the implementation of a strategy aimed at enhancing gender diversity within the organisation. The decision comes following extensive consultation undertaken in a specially established task force under the umbrella of the ECA Institutional Relations Working Group.
ECA continuously strives to be a modern and progressive organisation that combats any form of discrimination and sees gender diversity as an important issue to address in this context.
Commenting on the decision, ECA Executive Board Member and ECA Institutional Relations Working Group Chairman, Ivan Gazidis stated:
“At present, women are significantly underrepresented in the football industry. As clubs, the foundation of the game, we believe that fresh and diverse voices are key to shaping the future of the professional game. With this in mind, ECA will begin to focus on identifying measures to increase women’s involvement within our association and club football as a whole.”
