The European Club Association today organised its first Regional Meeting of 2011 at the ECA Headquarters in Nyon. ECA Member Clubs from Austria, Belgium, Liechtenstein, Luxemburg, the Netherlands and Switzerland were invited to attend the meeting chaired by ECA Board Members Michel Verschueren (RSC Anderlecht) and Maarten Fontein (AZ Alkmaar).
Regional Meetings are used to gather the clubs' views and opinions on the current ECA topics in an informal atmosphere. Today's discussions focused on the international calendar, the UEFA Club Competition Cycle 2012/15 and player agents. Participation proved lively and the members took the opportunity to address specific regional club issues and exchange thoughts on different ECA-related matters.
The next two months will see a total of five additional Regional Meetings taking place throughout Europe. The next meeting is scheduled on the 3rd of May in Stockhom gathering ECA Member Clubs from Scandinavia.
