The second session of the current edition of the ECA Club Management Programme (CMP) is set to take place next week on 9th & 10th January at the San Mamés Stadium in Bilbao.
The two-day session, hosted by Athletic Club, will focus on Sport Activities, with the first day being dedicated to topics concerning the Professional Team and the second to the Youth Academy. The CMP participants, representatives from 40 ECA Member Clubs and 27 different national associations, will learn about the organisation of football departments within clubs, looking at areas such as the responsibilities of technical staff, player development, and the emerging role and importance of data in recruitment. Speaking at the event will be experts within the area, including President of Athletic Club, Josu Urrutia, case studies on youth academies from AC Milan and RSC Anderlecht, as well as a Q&A session with esteemed Sports Directors; Damien Comolli, John Collins and José María Amorrortu.
The aim of the session is for participants to gain a deeper understanding of the factors impacting the Sport Activities of a club, including the decision-making process and the development of human skills. As with all sessions in the CMP, these two days will provide participants with a range of tools with which to reflect on their own club’s practices and identify areas in need of further development.
